November 21, 2009 1-mile run/walk 5K timed handcycle race 5K run/walk
Although it rained the day before and all night, the weather cleared up with sunrise on the morning of the race. There was a great turnout of runners, walkers and rollers - some old friends and some new ones - all coming together to raise money for those impacted by spinal cord injuries and disabilities. We can't wait until the 2nd Annual Run, Walk & Roll in 2010!
Many thanks go out to all the businesses and individuals that participated in the Mini-Wellness Fair at the race. Your support was invaluable. Our thanks to Baylor Grapevine, Spine Team Texas, Hapka Chiropractic, Heard It Through the Grapevine Audiology, Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation, Alliance Foot & Ankle Specialists, iHealth Center, Corinthian Wellness Spa, Lisa Shaffer, Wendy Howard, Larry North Fitness and all the others involved in the wellness fair. I can't forget OurGreatCity for their contribution to our cause.
Our heartfelt thanks also go out to all the volunteers that made the event possible. Your many hours of work, your dedication and selflessness are an inspiration. Thanks to Pam Crail, Miriam Wright, MaryBeth Albence, Kim Rayburn-Booker, Jerry Cooperman, Steve Wright, Scott Booker, Reed Booker, Sam Booker, Annie Wright, Chris Wright, Elise Wright, Matt Albence, Caroline Albence, Lauren Albence, Julie Grimm, the students and families of Nolan Catholic High School and all the other volunteers. Sincere thanks to Bev Olson for everything you do - everyday. You continue to be an inspiration to everyone around you.
Lastly, thanks to Central Market in Southlake. Your employees are the finest people in the world and your commitment to community service is unsurpassed. Thanks especially to Ren Knight for her endless hours of work on this event.
Let's do it again in 2010!
Regards,
